IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert A.
Ricard
July 13, 1941 – June 30, 2021
Albert A. Ricard, 79, passed away on June 30 th after a 6 1/2-year battle with Parkinson's Disease and Dementia.
Al was born in Waltham MA on July 13, 1941. After graduation from Waltham High School, Al attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, where he graduated with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to work for a number of electronic firms along the Boston Route 128 corridor.
Al met his life partner and future husband, Ed, in 1973. They lived together in Boston for 4 years before moving to San Francisco. There, Al worked for Volt Delta Resources and was their lead tech responsible for the maintenance of the Pacific Bell Concord, CA computer center. After 20 years at Volt, Al went to work for Steris Corporation, where he worked until retirement in 2003.
After retiring, Al and Ed moved to Florida in 2004; first to Jensen Beach then to Palm City.
Al loved to cook, being with friends, going to the gym, gardening, raising orchids and Chardonnay wine. He was warm and loving, had the bluest blue eyes, biggest smile and a great sense of humor. In his lifetime, Al made it through the Blizzard of 1978 in Boston, the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake in San Francisco and the 2004 hurricanes, Frances and Jeanne, in Florida.
Al was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Irene (Deschene) Ricard and brother Alfred Ricard. He is survived by his partner of 48 years and husband of 6 years, Edward Yanni of Stuart FL, sister Anita Yerardi of Franklin MA, 6 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews.
I would like to thank our family, friends and all the caregivers who supported us through this long goodbye.
No services are scheduled, but feel free to raise a glass in Al's memory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at www.michaeljfox.org .
