Alice N. Blackford, 88, of Jensen Beach, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at her home.
Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, she had been a resident of Palm City, Florida for twenty-four years, coming from Bound Brook, New Jersey. She and her husband, George, recently moved to Jensen Beach in November of 2014.
An accomplished artist, she attended the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. Her favorite works in watercolor were those of flowers in vivid and lifelike colors. She was a member of the Palm City Art Group, and also a former member of the Altersgate United Methodist Church in Palm City, later becoming a member of the Stuart Congregational Church in Stuart, Florida.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, George T. Blackford, of Jensen Beach; one son, Gary B. Blackford, and his wife, Rebecca, of Baltimore, Maryland; and one daughter, Gail E. Stoddard, and her husband, John, of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
A Service to celebrate her life will be held at Grand Oaks of Jensen Beach at a later date.
