Prior to retiring, she was a Technical Administrator in education for the Nassau County BOCES program.

Survivors include her daughter, Christine Sinatra (Benedetto) of Huntersville, NC, Daughters in law, Pamela Cannata of Boca Raton, Fl, Mary Lou Cannata of Port St. Lucie, Fl, granddaughters, Raquel Cannata of Boca Raton, Fl, Stephanie Lynch (Sean) of Concord, NC, great grandsons, Christopher Chamberlain of West Palm Beach, FL, Connor Wesley Lynch of Concord, NC and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Hixon, and sons, Peter and Steven Cannata
