Anthony (Tony) A. Ramputi, age 84, passed peacefully on March 3, 2018 after an extended illness.  During his medical treatment, he was meticulously cared for by the outstanding staff at Martin Memorial South Hospital.  Tony fought an admirable battle to try and regain his health; however, when it was understood that recovery just wasn't possible and nothing more could be done, he requested to receive comfort care at Hospice.  He was moved to Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart On March 2 ^nd , where the most phenomenal group of caring, loving people made sure Tony and Becky were comfortable.  Becky never left his side and family came to visit to say their goodbyes.  Tony was comfortable and surrounded by the love of his family when he passed.  He lived a full life, he was tired and he was ready when God called him home.

Tony was born in 1933 New York, son of Daniel and Angelina Ramputi.  He enjoyed a successful career with Manufacturing Hanover Bank, Honeywell and Chase as a Senior IT Analyst and investment specialist.  Tony also served as a Private First Class in the United States Army.  He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1957.  Tony was proud to have served our great country!

He built a home and a comfortable life over several decades in various parts of New York.  Tony tragically lost his wife to a courageous battle with cancer in 1993.  He decided to move to Florida in early 1996 to enjoy an early retirement.

In late 1996, he met a lovely lady who stole his heart, Rebecca Broadhurst, with whom he shared his second life of love, devotion and commitment for the past 21 years.  Tony and Becky knew they were meant to be together after dancing into the early morning hours on the night they met.  They soon realized they were each other's soulmates and they would be together forever.  They lived in Palm Beach Gardens until moving to Palm City in 2007.  They made so many wonderful memories over their 21 years together.  The both shared a love for travel and visited places such as Aruba, Hawaii, New York, Connecticut, Cape Cod, New Orleans, California, Missouri and Arkansas.

Tony's life was full of love; love of family, love of life and love of friends. Tony was the most gentle of gentlemen, always ready with a kind word of love and devotion.  He was admired and loved by all who were blessed to know him.  He was always the strong, quiet presence of the family, but was always supportive and willing to just listen or to provide some expert advice.  He celebrated accomplishments, milestones and successes, as well as being compassionate and reassuring during the challenges of life.

He shared in the excitement as his stepdaughter, Michelle married her high school sweetheart, Michael Thomas in 2001.  Tony welcomed his first granddaughter with the birth of Michael and Michelle's daughter, Taylor Nicole Thomas in 2003.  His stepson Raymond Don Smith married his long-time girlfriend, Marcy in 2005.  Tony was overjoyed with the arrival of his second granddaughter, EllieAnn Krysta Smith in 2010.  His other stepson, Roy Alan Smith and family did not live locally; however the distance was only in miles, not in the heart.  Tony and Roy shared a strong bond and closeness.  Roy's daughter, Tony's third granddaughter, Ambrus Leigh married her love, John Presley in 2008.  Tony was over the moon with the arrival of his great grandsons, Henry Miller Presley in 2010 and Hank Alan Presley in 2015.

Tony loved all sports and enjoyed baseball, basketball, football and golf.  He really appreciated the Olympic Games as well.  He was most passionate about his NY Yankees and his NY Giants and he was a HUGE fan of both but he supported all the family's teams during football season (as long as they weren't playing one of his teams, of course). Sundays were for watching the game and enjoying family time. Tony, Ray and Roy could talk sports all day and all night long.

Tony and Rebecca also shared a love for animals.  When Rebecca and Tony first met, Rebecca had a Welsh Pembroke Corgi, named Shelby who became Tony's best buddy.  After Shelby passed, Anthony and Rebecca welcomed another Corgi named Sable who became Tony's shadow.  Most recently, Tony and Rebecca enjoyed the energy only a Jack Russell/Chihuahua could bring with the addition of Tony's "baby", Abby.  Abby was Tony's constant companion and her favorite place was napping her papa Tony's lap.

Tony enjoyed TV, theatre and movies.  Some of his favorites included Seinfeld, Agent 007 movies/series, and all action/drama movies.  His most favorite type of theatre was watching his granddaughters perform plays and sing and dance in various performances.  Tony was so proud to be able to attend many live singing performances by his granddaughter, Ambrus and her husband John in Presley's Country Jubilee located in Branson, Missouri.

Tony is predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, his sister Edna Traina, and his brother, Guy Ramputi.  He is survived by his soulmate and life partner of 21 years, Rebecca Broadhurst, his sister, Mary Russo of New Jersey as well as many nieces and nephews.

Anyone that knew Tony will not be surprised to learn that he didn't want a formal funeral or sadness surrounding his passing and that he would prefer we remember the love, the fun and the laughter.  We are going to do just that, and welcome those who would like to join us in remembering Tony.

A celebration of life gathering is planned for Saturday, March 31st from 2 to 5pm at Michael, Michelle and Taylor Thomas's residence located at 8636 SE Longview Drive, Hobe Sound FL 33455-7415.

I love you Tony.  I will miss you for the rest of my life.  You filled my life with so much love, happiness and laughter. ~Always and forever in my heart, Becky.
