Anthony R. Thomas, age 55 of Stuart, FL passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Tony was born January 7, 1958 in Detroit, MI, son of the late Robert and Josephine Thomas. He moved to Stuart from Arizona in 1986 and has worked as a plumber for over 25 years. Tony was an avid golfer and a huge diehard Detroit sports fanatic, especially the Detroit Lions. On August 29, 1981 in Tucson, AZ, Tony was united in marriage to his loving wife, Kimberly (Nesbitt) Thomas, who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Blair and Brooke Thomas, both of Stuart, FL; brother, Christopher & Nora Thomas of Tarpon Springs, FL; several step-siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kim. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, 4:00 p.m. at the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home, Garden Chapel (950 SE Monterey Road; Stuart, FL 34994). Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (865 SE Monterey Commons Blvd; Stuart, FL 34996) or Treasure Coast Hospice (1201 SE Indian St; Stuart, FL 34997).
