Arie Anton Stegmann, 89 of Hobe Sound, Florida passed away June 24, 2017 at Solaris Health Care in Stuart, Florida.
Born February 10, 1928 in Germany, he moved to Hobe Sound in January 1990, coming from New Jersey.
Arie was a retired delivery supervisor for Powers Regulator.
He enjoyed driving cars, bicycling and playing chess. Arie loved the ocean and swimming. In his youth he was a very good soccer player in his hometown.
Arie loved to be with people and had many friends, young and old. He was very kind and happy. He was loved by many.
Arie is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Helga Stegman; sister, Erica and her husband, Halmut and their children Rolf, Detlef and Roland; brother, Kurt and his children, Eric, Regina and Mark; niece, Lara and her husband John Beate.; numerous cousins and other family members.
Arie is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Teresa.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Solaris Health Care for their kindness and care to Arie over the past year; special thanks to dear friend, Una Wera, Jose, Bernadette and Maria for their love and support for Helga and Arie during difficult times, they were there and as well as other members of the neighborhood.
Service of Remembrance will be 11 am, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart.
