Arigo R. Menis, 81, of Port St. Lucie passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Palm City Nursing and Restorative Care with his family by his side.
Born April 20, 1935 in Jersey City, NY, he was the son of Christiano and Armelina Menis. He relocated to the Treasure Coast 25 years ago coming from New Jersey, first living on Hutchinson Island, then moving to Port St. Lucie.
He was a self-employed retired contractor and owner of Taurus Tile Contractors doing business in New York and New Jersey.
Arigo was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. He was involved in Kings Isle Men's Club and had served as president for seven years. Arigo enjoyed traveling and had organized and spear headed many international trips for Kings Isle residents. He was also a member of the Elks.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Joan A. Menis; loving daughters, Christina Sterner and Lisa Marshall, both of Palm City; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Shwed of NJ, Christina Gold of Port St. Lucie, Stephanie Shwed of Stuart, Donald Richard Marshall and Anthony J. "A.J." Marshall, both of Palm City; great grandchildren, Jayden Shwed, Mia Shwed, Aden Gold, Garrett Gold, Kate Gold, "Joey" Joseph Marshall, Sophia Marshall, Merritt Lavelle and Turner Lavelle; and Evans Bayer.
Arigo was predeceased by his parents, Christiano and Armelina Menis and brother, Valentino Menis.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 350 NW California Blvd., Port St Lucie, FL 34986.
