Arthur Lee Davis, Sr., 62, affectionately known as Uncle Art' of Stuart, FL passed away in the early morning hours on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Treasure Coast Hospice - Hay Madeira House in Stuart.
He was born to the parents of the late, Vernon Davis, Sr. and Sophie Mae Davis in Stuart, FL. Arthur was educated in the public schools of Stuart, FL. He graduated from Martin County High School, Class of 1973, where he was a member of the track team and the basketball team. After graduating high school, Arthur joined the United States Army and served our Country from 1974-1976.
Arthur was skillful with his hands, and had the ability to work his craft with several agencies; some of which included a Roofing Company, a Landscaping Agency, and Dickerson Florida Incorporated. From 1980 to 1984 he was employed with the City of Stuart.
Arthur's parents (Vernon and Sophie Davis, Sr.) preceded him in death, along with two grandchildren; Devarion and Markey'Ana.
Left behind to mourn his passing, cherish his memories and celebrate his life is: 2 caring sons, Arthur L. Davis Jr. (Talana) of Port St Lucie, FL; and Marcus Davis (Nikki) of Fort Pierce, FL; 1 loving daughter, Angela M. Dames (Roderick) of Stuart, FL; a devoted fianc, Sonya Johnson of Stuart, a special person close to his heart, Keta Jackson of Stuart, FL; 7 adorable grandchildren, Rodreon, Javin, Ja'Asia, Nazaria, Marcus Jr., Jamarcus, and Jamiya whom he loved dearly; 4 supportive sisters, Jennie Davis, Pearlie Clark, Mozellar Leonard, all of Stuart, FL, and Edith Ivory of Palm Bay, FL; 3 kind brothers, Reverend Vernon Davis, Jr. (Norma) of Stuart, FL; Willie J. Davis of Port St. Lucie, FL; and John T. Davis (Irma) of Americus, GA; 4 thoughtful god sisters, Yvonne Still, Elaine Still, Barbara Still and Annie Wesley all of Stuart, FL; a host of other relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbors and friends who will miss him tremendously.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, 11:00am at Lve Temple Church of God by Faith, located at 505 SE Florida Street in Stuart, FL. Deacon Vernon Davis will officiate, and Elder Garrick Lewis, Sr. will deliver the Eulogy.
