March 4, 1927 – December 18, 2020
Audrey Underhill Hopson of Palm City, Florida, passed away quietly and courageously on Friday, December 18, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 4, 1927, at Upthegrove Beach in Okeechobee, Florida, the ninth of thirteen children to the late William Freeman and Mary Magdaline Underhill. She was a generational Floridian and took great pride in working hard and taking care of her family. Audrey owned and managed the original citrus shops on both the Fort Pierce and Fort Drum Plazas of the Florida Turnpike for many years. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter and friend, and will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Harrison Hopson, a son, Dale Harrison Hopson, and three brothers and six sisters. Audrey is survived by three children, Vicki Davis (Joe), Reginal Paul Hopson, Roger Hopson (Donna) and six grandchildren, Jody Davis Bailey (Chris), Jana Davis Martin (Brian), Kristy Hopson, Jenny Hopson, Lauren Hopson, Reginal Thomas Hopson and four great-grandchildren, Cash, Emory Kate, Colson and Barrett.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Fernhill Gardens and Mausoleums in Stuart. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions as a memorial may be made in her memory to the YMCA of Stuart, 1700 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida 34996.
