Audrey M. Howells, 89, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019.  Formerly of Plantation, Florida, she and her late husband resided in Port St Lucie for the last 22 years.

Audrey – or "Sam" as she was known to family and friends -  was a true American patriot and in her younger years was involved in local politics.  Aside from her love of family and friends, she cherished being a Floridian and a day didn't go by that she didn't thank her husband for relocating the family to the sunshine state 63 years ago.

Though her health was failing for several years, few people knew the extent to which she struggled. Her sense of humor and indomitable spirit kept her going from day to day.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas P. Howells.  Audrey leaves behind three children, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother.

Services will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
