Ms. Barbara Amelia Catalano aka Barbie; Maiden name Reve died gently and peacefully from Alzheimer's in West Palm Beach, FL on December 1st 2024 at the age of 84. Frederick Robert Freiermuth and John Freiermuth is survived by their Mother and Jenna Marie Freiermuth is survived by her Grandmother.

Personal Background:

Barbara was born and raised in Lindenhurst, NY by her Parents Charles and Amelia Reve which had 9 Children. Barbara was the youngest and the last survived of 9 Children. She would help her Mother cook for her large loving Family and help her Father with their small farm which raised chickens and planted vegetables for sustaining the Family's food supply.

Barbara married Frederick Freiermuth on October 24, 1959 they have two Children; Frederick Robert Freiermuth and John Freiermuth. Seven years later they decided to go their separate ways leaving Barbara as a single Mother with two young boys. Barbara's Love, Strength, perseverance and determination induced empowering two young boys with strong principles and values.

Barbara's main purpose in Life was to be a Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She took this role very seriously with the utmost responsibility and unconditional Love. For 10 years she was asingle Mother raising two young Boys until her rare love came into her Life Benjamin Catalano. Ben quickly became Barbara's ROCK and Father figure for her Son John Freiermuth. They married on April 11, 1996 and relocated from New York to Port St Lucie, Florida to enjoy their Empty Nester years with Barbara's Sons and their Families. Barbara and Ben purchased a brand new custom house in 2002 in Port St Lucie, FL where Ben was proud to give Barbara her dream Black & White kitchen and Ben was also proud to have his own Handyman Workshop in his Garage.

They were a power couple working together remodeling kitchen and bathrooms.

Barbara and Ben became Proud Grand Parents on October 6th1999 and welcomed Jenna Marie Freiermuth with open arms and unconditional Love. Jenna went to the University of Florida; Graduated on May of 2023 in Environmental Engineering.

New Found Love:

In 2016 Barbara's Husband Ben passed. Her heart was broken until a new found love came into here life; her name was Cassie. Cassie was an adorable White and Brown Shih Tzu. Cassie was Barbara's companion from the word go! They went everywhere together, daily drives to the Dollar Tree and Supermarkets as well as vacations to Disney World and NY. Barbara would tell everyone I finally have my little girl.

Professional Background:

Barbara wore many hats! Assembler, Handywoman and Professional Cleaner.

She gave 100% to detail and an enormous of energy in her labor which was in assembly work for Vitamin companies for over 20 years of Service and her role as a Handy Woman with her Husband Ben Catalano for 15 years. Barbara would create the invoices for their customers and use the power nail gun to efficiently get the job done!

A little rewind in time; when Barbara was in her 30s during the summertime to make extra side money for her Family; Barbara was a professional house cleaner in Ocean Beach, Fire Island NY. She had the endurance and opportunity to clean 5,000 sq ft homes for several Celebrities all on her own. One of the Celebrities was the Actor from Starsky and Hutch; a 1970s Police Series; David Soul aka Hutch. She met his Mother several times but never had the opportunity to meet Hutch. Barbara was so particular about her level of prestige cleaning that she would make the beds and iron the sheets to create that perfect fold in the mattress corner.

Fast forward to her 60s in West Palm Beach, FL Barbara would help her Son John Freiermuth do the same for his Air B n B Business that was rated the cleanest Air B n B in the neighborhood. When Barbara worked, she aimed to be the best at her craft.
