Barbara Ferro, 74, of Fort Pierce, FL passed away Monday, May 29th at Abbiejean Russell Care Center, under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice with her husband and sisters there to comfort her.
Born December 2, 1942 in Keighley, England, she resided on the Treasure Coast since October 2010. Previous residences in England, France (Paris) and USA (New York, Georgia and Florida).
Barbara worked in various fields over the years. She worked from home with Publishers Clearing House, was a restaurant hostess, worked in Accounting departments, was a Realtor in New York and Georgia (16 years). Also was a Kiwanis member, Secretary for 4 years, and mentored at schools and many more volunteer activities.
She traveled extensively on vacations and sometimes with her husband on extended business trips. Some of the places she visited... Rome, Paris, China, Singapore, Egypt, Turkey, Amsterdam, Belgium and many more. Many Caribbean cruises, all states up and down the east coast, California, Washington state, Canada, Hawaii and more.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, James, and her children Kim Grosso/John Ferro and five Grand Children.
Although there is no formal service at this time due to family's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge, 343 NW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St Lucie, FL 34986, Tuesday June 6th 1PM to 3pm" for Florida friends and family. Additional gathering information for Georgia and New York will be distributed via personal contacts as soon as they are arranged.
In lieu of flowers, any memorials and donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 (treasurehealth.org), who provided caring, professional, and loving care in Barbara's last hours.
