Barbara Ruth Newell, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, of Palm City, Florida, passed away at home with her loving family Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at the age of 84.

Born December 28, 1929, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to parents, Helen and Cecil Coast, she had most recently been a resident of Palm City, Florida, previously living in Tillamook, Oregon, Salem, Oregon, and Yuma, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, John P. Newell, Sr.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Oregon Supreme Court.

Hobbies and interests included golf, horses, family and friends.

Barbara loved to travel and spend time with family and friends at every opportunity.

She is survived by two sons; Jim Newell, of Palm City, and John Newell, Jr., of Salem, Oregon; one daughter, Cheryl Hammond, of Bend, Oregon; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Newell, of Palm City; and three granddaughters, Tarin Newell, Jordan Newell, and Kendall Newell, all of Palm City.

A Service to Celebrate her Life will be Friday, January 31, 2014 at 4:30pm on the Patio Chapel of Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida 34994.
