Barry E. Mariner, son of Edward and Gertrude Mariner, passed peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 18, 2014 in Stuart, Florida. Barry was born on December 2, 1941 in Berlin, Maryland where he lived and worked on the family farm. He was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and served in the US Army. He owned BarMar Construction in Berlin and also helped his son build a successful business before he retired. Over the years Barry spent much of his time fishing and camping with his children, grandchildren and his wife Bessie. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was found in cooking a wonderful meal and gathering his family around the table to enjoy it. Barry had a very strong faith in Jesus and believed he was called to share the "Roman's Road" as the way to heaven. He proudly wore the Romans 10: 9,10 verse on his shirt or hat as an opportunity to witness to whomever might ask about it. Barry spent much of his later life residing in Port Salerno, Florida with his wife Bessie enjoying the outdoors and great fishing. He is survived by his two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Tyndall and Mrs. Beebe Winterbottom and their husbands, his loving wife Bessie Mariner of Stuart Florida, his son Barry E. R. Mariner of Berlin, Maryland, two grandchildren, Brittany and Ethan Mariner and three stepchildren.

Two memorial services are planned, for Maryland and Florida. A memorial outdoor service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Sandsprit Park 3443 SE St. Lucie Blvd. in Stuart Florida. A second service will be held in Ocean City, Maryland honoring Mr. Mariner's wishes to have his ashes scattered over the ocean. Information for that service will be made available at a later date.
