Longtime Stuart resident Maurice 'Bill' Gould, 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Oct 28, after a brief illness. Son of the late Maurice Gould ii and Edythe Benson Gould of Kennebunkport, Maine, he graduated Kennebunk H. S. in 1961. Following his service in the Air Force, stationed in Japan, he worked in Miami as an air traffic controller. He eventually switched his career to cooking and found that working as a chef, in resorts throughout New England and Florida, less stressful. He met his wife in Maine and they settled  and worked in Stuart. He lived an active retirement, gardening, hiking, traveling and volunteering in the community. He supported the environment both globally and in his own backyard.

He leaves behind his wife, Patrice, sister Mindy, nephew Cy and grand-niece Haley.  We will miss his laugh, his wicked sense of humor, kind nature and unwavering love.
