Obituary

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure." - Unknown

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda L Schleiker. She was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to Paul and Betty Miller (Notestine) on December 12, 1948, and gained her heavenly wings and was called home to God on August 6, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son Schyler Dean Lesoine, her Mother Betty L Miller (Notestine), and her, Father Paul R Miller. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Stephen M Schlieker of Port St Lucie, Florida her two surviving children, Donald P Lesoine of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Christina Lesoine Papcsy and son-in-law, Robert M Papcsy of Orlando, Florida, 5 brothers: James Miller (Anne – deceased), George Miller (Barbara), Paul Miller (Kathleen), Donald Miller (Diane) and William Miller as well as many nieces and nephews.

Brenda spent most of her life in the Poconos of Pennsylvania where she had many friends and was heavily involved in the Moose Lodge. She catered many functions for people in the area and worked for various charities. She retired from East Stroudsburg University in 2010 as a supervisor in the custodial department. She loved her job, treasured her coworkers and the students. She cherished those years immensely. She then retired to Florida to be near her children.

She was known for her warmth, generosity, her loving spirit as well as her razor-sharp wit. The sayings that she used sometimes,

(inherited from her parents) were funny to say the least and she has passed them down to her children along with her generosity, spunk and her great love for animals. She brough so much joy, love and laughter to her family, friends and community. She was the glue that held our family together.

She adored her many dogs over the years and loved traveling, but she especially loved going to Las Vegas, which she had done many times throughout her life. She never knew a stranger, was a friend to anyone that needed a friend and a mom to those that needed one.

We will miss her spirit and her love, until we are reunited with her once again in the Kingdom of Heaven. Until then, rest well Mom. We will love and miss you always.

At her request, there will be no memorial service or funeral by her immediate family. She wished to be remembered and acknowledged as a hardworking, loving mother and wife, loyal, unselfish friend and esteemed, respected colleague.

If anyone wishes to make a donation in her name as a remembrance, please donate to any animal shelter or rescue in your area or volunteer in your local shelter.
