Brian J. Cairns, 58, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Stuart, Florida.

Born in Rahway, New Jersey, he was the son of late James and Jeanie (Dunn) Cairns.

Brian moved to Florida after High School, and became his father's business partner for Scotty's Trucking Company, based out of Green Acres, Florida. Brian enjoyed sports of all kinds, his favorite sports were Formula 1 racing, NASCAR, baseball, football, and everything basketball. For a time, Brian volunteered as the basketball coach for his church's youth group.

Being a mechanic at heart, he loved fixing things; it was his joy to work on cars, trucks and anything that had a motor. Brian was always there to help friends with carpentry and landscaping projects.

Surviving are five daughters Kelly Cairns, Bonnie Cairns, Briana Cairns-Kerbs, Lindsay Cairns-Bolander, and Jamie Cairns; one grandson, and sister, Julie Cairns-Rubin.

He will be laid to rest with his parents August 7th at the Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 23rd, at the Hobe Sound Presbyterian Church, 11933 SE Juno Crescent, Hobe Sound, Florida 33455.
