Obituary

On July 11, 1946, the world was blessed with greatness. Carl Edward Frazier was born in Gaffney, South Carolina. He was one of six children. Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger, Jimmy, and Robbie Frazier, as well as his sister, Gloria Peterson. He is survived by his other sister, Patty Hooker of Chesnee, South Carolina.

Carl leaves behind a legacy of hard work. He was a man's man and a champion of women. He was quiet but would not back down from adversity. He had calloused hands and a soft heart. He would give you the shirt off his back and his last dime. If you were a part of his world you could consider yourself lucky. He was a secretive man, keeping his life close to the vest. We will never be completely sure about his involvement with the CIA.

Some of Carl's most prized accomplishments include his children, Carla Dahlem, and Edward Frazier. Carla, married to Matthew Dahlem, blessed Carl with two grandchildren, Aubrey Elisabeth, and Evan William. Edward, married to Stacy Frazier, blessed Carl with two grandchildren, Chase and Nick, and 3 great-granddaughters, Alexa, Delayna, and Layla. Through marriage to Diane Frazier, Carl got to know her two daughters, Amanda Mckeon, and Erica Elgrim. He became Grandpa Carl to Amanda's two boys, Terry, and Charles Mckeon.

Carl was a lifetime member of The Ironworkers Union #290 in Dayton, Ohio. He was most recently retired as a Construction Manager with Bechtel Corp and was a proud member of several prestigious organizations including The Elks (2658), American Legion (0009), Murat Shriners, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary of Fort Pierce, FL.

Carl was also a member of the United States Military. He served 2 years and 11 months in the Navy. On September 11, 2001, after one of the greatest tragedies in recent American history, Carl did not hesitate to pack up his belongings and drive to Ground Zero, working hand in hand with other countless selfless American's helping to remove rubble for almost 2 days before there was a plan in place. This is a testament to the type of man we all know Carl to be.

Carl leaves behind his loving wife of 7 years, Diane Frazier. He also leaves behind an indelible mark on everyone he touched. Our tears are a testament of what an honorable person Carl was and how much he is greatly missed. He will never be too far so long as he is close to our hearts.
