Carl Sturm, 85, of Jensen Beach, Florida, died Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Saint Lucie Medical Center in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he had been a resident of Florida, since 1987, coming from Clifton, New Jersey.
He was a Veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by The Whitco Chemical Company in Patterson, New Jersey for 38 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah McLaughlin, of Jensen Beach; one sister, Betty Tookmanian, of Hernando Beach, Florida; and one granddaughter, Melanie McLaughlin, of Delray Beach, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy Sturm.
Services and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family from the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory of Stuart, Florida.
