IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl H
Siemsen
April 8, 1939 – September 28, 2022
Carl Harold Siemsen, 83, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 28 th at Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida following complications from a medical procedure.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri where he attended Hazelwood High School. Marrying his high school sweetheart, Eloise Linda Stewart in May 1962. After they divorced, Carl later united in a loving partnership with Rita Wunderlich. Carl was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor.
In February of 1962 Carl was selected to serve his country in the wake of the Cold War. Carl served proudly in the 33 rd Artillery out of Ft. Riley, Kansas. After basic training, Carl was stationed in Berlin until 1964 in the communications unit. Carl was proud of his service to his country and often told stories to his children and grandchildren of those fond memories.
Post military service Carl was employed as a Product Engineer for National Vendors in St. Louis, Missouri, during which he received recognition for a patented vending machine component. Carl retired in 2000 to care for his loving partner, Rita Ann Wunderlich and relocated to Mt. Grove, Missouri.
Carl had a passion for sailing and boating in general, a true old salt! He also enjoyed country living with his loving partner Rita. There he was able to bolster his other passion for firearm collection and refinishing. Carl truly enjoyed life both on land and sea! After the passing of his late wife, Rita he answered the call of the sea where he settled in Okeechobee, Florida to be closer to his children and grandchildren where he most enjoyed times with them on the water. Carl especially enjoyed hanging out on his back porch sharing stories with his wonderful, Florida friends, Greg, Roger and Rick. The overarching theme of his life was his love and concern for his family, neighbors and friends.
Carl is survived by his two children: Rebecca Barrow of Stuart, Florida (Michael), and Daniel Siemsen and his wife, Melissa, of Hobe Sound, Florida; his step-children: Terri Keeney and her husband, Steve, of Cape Fair, Missouri, and Steve Wunderlich and his wife, Cindy, of Mansfield, Texas; he was most proud of his grandchildren: Madison Barrow, Rylie and Fynnigan Siemsen, Katelin Keeney (Jacqueline), Bryce Keeney together with his wife Alyssa (Owen, Isla), Mathew Wunderlich together with his wife Carlyn (Benaiah, Johanne); he is also survived by his brother Richard Siemsen and his wife Bette, of Foley, Missouri; his nephews Rich Siemsen, Steve Siemsen together and his wife Amy, nieces Tina Siemsen, Beth Robertson and her husband Randy; his cousin Tom Dittmer and his wife Karen of Cary, North Carolina; and many other friends and family who will sadly miss his genuine, giving nature.
