Carmine Nicholas Guarnieri, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 5, 1933, Carmine lived a long and meaningful life marked by service, hard work, dedication, and love for those closest to him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and commitment.
Carmine began his career in the food industry and became one of the youngest meat managers of his time at Food Fair, a company later bought by Pantry Pride. His work ethic, skill, and leadership earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.Carmine was a member of the Klondike Club and St. Anne’s before retiring to Florida, where he enjoyed staying active and playing bocce.
He will be remembered for his strength, devotion to family, and the steady example he set throughout his life. Carmine’s presence brought comfort and pride to those who knew him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Carmine was predeceased by his loving wife, Anna, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Anna passed away in April 2025. He was also predeceased by his parents, Lorenzo Guarnieri and Rose (Scarinzi) Guarnieri; his brother, Michael A. Guarnieri; and his sister-in-law, Marylou Guarnieri.
He is survived by his children, Roseann Guarnieri Hoffman (Wilson “Chip”), Lawrence “Larry” Guarnieri, Carmine Guarnieri Jr., and Matthew Guarnieri. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Dustin Hoffman, (Mariale) Hoffman, Carol Hoffman Smallwood (Gayland), and Dawn Hoffman, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be on October 17, 2026, 10:30 am. In loving memory of both Anna and Carmine at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwalk CT.
Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart, Florida, is handling the family cremation arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmine’s honor to Treasure Coast Hospice, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
