In Loving Memory of Carole Ann (Coover) Jacobson

December 8, 1946 – October 11, 2026

Carole Ann (Coover) Jacobson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on October 11, 2026, at the age of 79. Originally from Middletown, Rhode Island, Carole later made her home in Palm City, Florida. Throughout her life, she also lived in New York, building a life filled with cherished memories, meaningful friendships, and the love of family. Carole built a career in the fashion industry, working as a buyer for The Outlet Company in Providence, Rhode Island, and later for FFANY in New York City. She had a deep appreciation for style and a love of shopping, which continued to bring her joy throughout her life. Carole found happiness in many of life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed equestrian activities, music, gardening, reading, and playing golf. She had a special love for animals and birds, and some of her fondest memories were made birdwatching with her beloved husband, Dick. She especially loved having the “big birds”—the Sandhill cranes—come close enough to eat right from her hand, a special experience that reflected her gentle spirit and love for animals. Her beloved Shih Tzu, Mikey, was a cherished companion who brought joy to her days.

Carole also loved to bake and had a creative touch that extended beyond the kitchen. Whether baking and decorating cakes or gifting presents, she delighted in making things special for the people she loved. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail made holidays, celebrations, and family gatherings all the more memorable.

Above all, Carole treasured time spent with family and friends. She loved dining out, gathering with loved ones, and especially looked forward to her girls’ nights with friends. These occasions brought her laughter, companionship, and the connections she held so dear. Carole had a wonderfully warm and gentle way about her. She was welcoming, kind, and thoughtful, making those around her feel comfortable and cared for. She was cherished by the many friends and family members who were blessed to know her. Her gentle presence, generous heart, and love for those around her left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to share in her life.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, William and Philomena Coover, her beloved husband, Richard M. “Dick” Jacobson and his daughter, Joanne Corman, and her brother, Kenneth Erickson.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Jill Gardiner, and Jill’s husband, Dean Gardiner; her granddaughters, Lia and Lexi Gardiner; and her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace. She is also survived by Joanne’s husband, Ed Corman; her granddaughters, Stephanie Corman and Stacie Fedan; Stacie’s husband, Stephen Fedan; and their son, Hunter Fedan. Carole is also survived by her brother, Ron Erickson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Carole’s family and friends will remember her for her kindness, her gentle nature, her creativity, her love of animals, and the special place she held in the lives of those closest to her. Though Carole will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the friendships she treasured, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
