Obituary

In the pre-dawn hour's yesterday morning, my wife of nearly 44 years slipped the bonds of this earth and quietly took the hand of God to be welcomed into her new home.

The outpouring of love, care and concern from so many makes an e-mail necessary at this point, but I will reach out to you individually as time moves on and we here begin to find a new "normal" that lies ahead. So for now, I will fill you in on the details that so many have requested.

After cremation, there will be a Memorial; Service at our Church on Sunday, September 1st. Internment will take place at a later date and time in the family plot in Bangor, ME.

Carolyn went in for Gallbladder and Cyst removal surgery on Friday, August 8th. She came home later that day to a very positive prognosis. After two days at home post-surgery, she began to lose muscle control and began to show other signs of instability. On Monday EMT's took her to the ER where they found no cause and sent her home. EMT's took her again to the ER the next afternoon with a specific request to get a CAT Scan and Neurological consult ASAP.

By Tuesday evening we were informed that she had a brain tumor but further definition by an MRI was needed. Daughter Stephany and I along with our Pastor John Bartz met with the neurosurgeon early the next morning and learned that it was indeed an inoperable and fast growing tumor about the size of a person's fist. Of the few options at that time, Stephany and I decided to honor Carolyn's spoken wishes and we thus directed that she kept free of pain for her remaining few days. To say that this has been a shock to our system is an understatement, but God has been good and faithful and has kept us tightly in his care. As the bible says, he will never leave us for forsake us and we are to cast all our cares on Him.

We never really understood about Angels on earth till this situation came along. In fact, there are many and they look human and wear clothes like the guys in blue who provide the 911 service, to the nurses and doctors in the ER and Hospital all in white, to the very special people at Treasure Coast Hospice who went way beyond the norm and did everything humanly possible to keep her from more pain and then to our pastor and church family and people like you who were with us as we needed you for multiple things, the most powerful of which was prayer.

Carolyn is survived by husband, Allon R. Fish, Sr. of Stuart, FL, a son Allon R. Fish, Jr. of Bangor ME, a daughter Wendy Fish Pelletier of Rock Hill, SC and daughter Stephany A. Fish of Jupiter Farms, FL. and her most favorite and constant companion, Rylee, a 5 year old Shitzu/Poodle cross. Surviving Granddaughter Danielle is in Portland, ME and Grandson, Adam (Kassandra) and three beautiful great granddaughters are in Phoenix AZ.

On Sunday, September 1, 2013, our regular church service begins at 10 am and concludes at 11:10 am. (See address below) Carolyn's memorial service will begin there at 11:30 am and conclude with a wide array of food and beverage provided by more angels who are regularly found serving others in our church. You are welcome to come to both or either service but we do not expect people to travel a great distance for that purpose.

We request that no flowers be sent but if you wish, a contribution could be made to either of the following:

New Beginnings Community Church, 8163 SW Citrus Blvd., Palm City, FL 34990 (772-285-5870) OR
Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 (772-403-4583 Jennifer)

My very best regards and thanks beyond all measure for the outpouring of love, care and concern.
