Charles H. Dore', III, 87, of Orlando, Florida, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the Cornerstone Inpatient Suites, in Winter Park, Florida.
Affectionately known as "Charlie", he was born in Westville, New Jersey, growing up in and raising his family in Haddonfield, New Jersey, where he was a longtime resident, until moving to Florida in 1991.
He honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard.
At home on the water, whether he was sailing, fishing, or power boating, he participated in the Bahama 500 Ocean Race, commanding a Henry Luhrs' craft, sponsored and powered by the Mercury-Kiekhaefer Racing Team.
Charlie is survived by his companion, Ann Thomas, of Orlando; one daughter, Leslie Hogan, and her husband, John, of Alpharetta, Georgia; one son, Charles H. "Chip" Dore', IV, and his wife, Beatrice, of La Belle, Florida; and two granddaughters, Virginia, and Eileen Hogan.
Services and Interment will private at the convenience of the family from the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory of Stuart, Florida.
