Charles Alexander Harris Jr, 96, died peacefully in his Palm City, Florida home on Saturday, December 17, 2016.
Charles left his Virginia home during World War-II to serve in the United States Army Air Corps.
Following retirement from DuPont, with over forty years of service, Charles moved from Wilmington, Delaware to Florida in 1985.
He was a member of the Palm City Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Martin Downs Country Club.
An avid outdoorsman, he continued to indulge in his passions of fishing, hunting, boating and golfing throughout his life. He will be remembered most for his wit and generosity.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Rosa Lee; his daughter Jacqueline and her husband, Richard and his son Charles, III; his granddaughter, Christine and grandson, Keith and his wife Nicole; and three great-grandchildren, Carter, Charles and William.
Contributions as a Memorial may be made to the Palm City Presbyterian Church, 2700 SW Martin Highway, Palm City, Florida 34990 or to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Florida 34997.
A Celebration of Life will take place in 2017.
