Charles Hodgson, age 85 of Hobe Sound, FL passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Hay Madeira House in Stuart, FL. Chuck was born August 7, 1927 in Massachusetts, son of the late William and Alice (Lyons) Hodgson. Chuck proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator. He then turned his love for flying into his career, working for 36 years as a commercial airline pilot. Several years after his retirement, Chuck and his beloved wife, Helen moved to Hobe Sound, FL. In his spare time Chuck loved golf, playing bridge and more than anything else, loved being with his family and friends. On September 27, 1952 in Medford, MA, Chuck was united in marriage to his loving wife, Helen (Doherty) Hodgson, who survives. Also surviving are his 2 sons, Mark R. Hodgson of Medford, MA and Steven (Marsha) Hodgson of Reston, VA; his sisters, Clare Weinstein and Katherine Ekstrom. He was preceded in death by his brother, William and his sister, Alice. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a private family service will be held in Massachusetts at a later date. Arrangements are by the Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory, Stuart, FL.
