IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles "Chuck"
William Oliver
June 9, 1943 – October 15, 2020
Charles "Chuck" William Oliver, 77, passed away October 15th, 2020 in Okeechobee, FL with family by his side. Born in Connersville, Indiana, he spent much of his life in Vincennes, Indiana before moving to Port Saint Lucie, Florida
He proudly graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes as part of the Class of '61. Chuck was a hard worker, beginning at an early age in Knox County watermelon fields, in a lumber yard as a young man, then as a truck driver hauling fertilizer, produce, steel beams, citrus fruits and more. Consequently, he knew the best way to drive wherever you wanted to go. He was a master mechanic and operated Oliver's Auto Repair for nearly 10 years, mentoring other young mechanics along the way.
Chuck was most happy spending the day in a boat fishing, both fresh and saltwater. He enjoyed visiting his family when the snow melted and he dared come north. He loved to eat morel mushrooms, biscuits with sausage gravy and thick slices of juicy, ripe tomatoes. He was a man to tell it like he saw it and to tell a colorful joke or two . . . or three. He was proud to own and drive a Cadillac. He loved country music and had the cowboy boots to prove it. He was a dancer, roller skater, karaoke singer, card player and so much more.
Chuck was a loyal friend, a dedicated son, a loving, supportive father and one heck of an uncle. He was married to Beverly (Downey) Schultz, then Marsha (Small) Erban. He is predeceased by his mother Helen (Fields) Smith and brother Sonny, and survived by his daughter Angela Oliver and husband Rick Kovacs of Wanakena, New York, grandsons Riczi Kovacs of Penfield, New York and Brooks Oliver of Manchester, New Hampshire), niece Twyla McGavic and husband Tim McGavic of Vincennes, Indiana, nephews Joe Blackburn of Ponte Vedra, Florida and David Blackburn of Vincennes, Indiana, sister Sue and many more loved nieces and nephews.
