Obituary

Cheryl Francolino

Jensen Beach, FL

Cheryl A. Francolino, beloved wife of Richard and loving mother of Rick and Greg, died unexpectedly October 10 at home. Cheryl was born on December 16, 1946 in New Britain, CT, the daughter of the late Herbert and Lena Berquist. Cheryl graduated in 1965 from New Britain High School and Becker College in Worchester, MA in 1967. Following graduation, she was employed as a medical secretary at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.   Cheryl and Richard were married on February 15, 1969 at St Matthew's Church in Forestville, CT. The couple was planning a Panama Cruise in February to celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Cheryl was an avid reader who enjoyed non-fiction as well as televised national news and political commentary programs. She was famous for her specialty salads, spaghetti and clam sauce and knockout Caesar. She was the only cook in the family who was able to recreate her late mother-in-law's turkey dressing.

Cheryl was very generous when it came to her nieces and nephews and her love and concern for their well-being will long be remembered. A breast cancer survivor, Cheryl shared her story in 2017 with readers of "in the pink," a special supplement to Treasure Coast Newspapers.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Richard Francolino, sons Richard J. Francolino of Virginia Beach, VA and Gregory R. Francolino of Jensen Beach, her sister, Janice Amento and husband, John Amento, her sister-in-law Barbara Parent and husband Ronald Parent and several nieces and nephews.
