Chester "Chet" Roskey, 81, of Stuart, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018
Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on May 15, 1939 to Stanley and Hedwig Roskowski, Chet graduated from Tufts University and married his wife of 60 years, Susan Griffin, on June 15, 1958. They had five children: Mark, Sean, Christine, Peter and Colin. He obtained further graduate degrees from Southern Methodist University and from the University of Georgia.
Chet is survived by his loving wife Susan, their five children and spouses Mark and Debra Ann Roskey of Stow, Massachusetts, Sean and Ann Roskey of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, John and Christine Stamatos of Cold Spring Harbor, New York, Peter Roskey of Agawam, Massachusetts and Colin and Joanne Roskey of Chevy Chase, Maryland. Surviving also are his nine grandchildren, Shane, Brett, Emily, Liz, Maria, Nicholas, Mariana, Stefanie, and Rose.
Chet was a full professor of microbiology at Framingham State College, where he also served as both Biology Department Chair and as an associate dean in the college's continuing education division. He served as a volunteer at Martin County North Hospital for many years during his retirement in Stuart.
Contributions as a memorial in Chet's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105
