Corey Michael Kimmel, 48, of Stuart, Florida, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home.

Born August 9, 1969 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, Corey lived most of his life in South Florida and was a graduate of South Fork High School in Stuart.

His varied career included owning his own company, as well as being employed by Lockheed Martin and Intelligrated Conveyor Systems.

Corey honorably served eight years in the United States Navy, as an Avionics Specialist and was a member of the America Legion Post #62 in Stuart. He enjoyed boating, fishing, diving and basketball.

He had an amazing spirit and was loved by everyone who knew him.  He will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him.

Survivors include his wife Ashley Rae Kimmel of Stuart; stepdaughter, Shelby Michels of Miami, Florida; his father, David Kimmel of Start; his mother, Pamela Kimmel and step-father Russell Ohsberg of Stuart; his mother-in-law, Diane Carey of Stuart; brother, Alan Kimmel and his wife, Amy of Stuart; sister, Kelley Kimmel of Stuart; two nephews, Kyle Kimmel and Mason Merkel; one niece, Addisyn Merkel; and a huge extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and near and dear friends.

A Celebration of Corey's Life will be held on Sunday, April 15 ^th at 4:00 pm at the VFW Post #10132, 6101 SE Dixie Highway, Hobe Sound, Florida 33455.

In lieu of flowers, Contributions as a Memorial may be made to the VFW Post #10132 at the above address.
