Craig B. Harlan, age 81, passed away peacefully on  Friday, August 17, 2018 in Stuart, Florida. Craig was born to the late Merritt (nee Jennings) and Edgar Grafton Harlan in Chicago, Illinois. For the past 20 years, he was a resident of Palm City, Florida.

He graduated from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia (Class of 1955); Dartmouth College in  Hanover, New Hampshire (Class of 1959); and attended the University of Dayton Graduate School of Business in Dayton, Ohio. After college, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He began his prominent business career with The Beryllium Corporation in Reading, Pennsylvania becoming VP of  Sales and later President of Technical Materials Inc. in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Craig finished his career in sales, marketing, and management as the Senior VP of International with Materion Corporation (Brush Engineered Materials) in Cleveland, Ohio.

Craig sang in the choirs of several Presbyterian churches and enjoyed playing the ukulele, banjo, and bumpah. He had a passion for golf, sailing, fishing, and yachting. He was active in Dartmouth alumni affairs as President of Dartmouth Clubs in Dayton, Ohio, Reading, Pennsylvania, and Providence, Rhode Island as well as many years doing alumni interviews of prospective students. His community service included volunteering for  the Meals-on-Wheels program

He was predeceased by his brother Roger and son Douglas.

Craig is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Linda; his two loving children, daughter, Jennifer Harlan of Cleveland, Ohio and son, Geoffrey Harlan (Megan) of Groton, Massachusetts and his five cherished grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
