Damyan "Dan" Damyanoff, passed away peacefully at his residence January 19, 2017, following his battle with Leukemia. He was born in Sophia, Bulgaria and immigrated to the United States by himself when he was only 18 years old. He was educated at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and graduated with an engineering degree. Dan was fluent in 3 different languages.
Dan had worked for General Electric for over 25 years both in power systems and then aviation. Dan was a world traveler in his profession and during retirement.
He met his first wife, Sharon while attending UT and they moved to New York when he went to work for GE in the 1960's. After his first wife passed away, he met his second wife, Josephine while working in Cincinnati. After he retired from GE, he and Josephine moved to Marathon Key where they enjoyed fishing, boating, scuba diving and traveling. Dan was never bored, he became stock broker for Merril Lynch, then became a day trader. Eventually moving to Hobe Sound he obtained a Commercial Real Estate License.
He was preceded in death by his father, Toscho Damyanoff and his mother, his brother, Ivan Damyanoff, sister-in-law Cindy Damyanoff, and his first wife, Sharon Cox Damyanoff.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Bowling Damyanoff of Hobe Sound, daughter, Tammy Rucigay (and husband, Richard) of Saratoga Springs, NY; step son, Robert Corner (and Brenda Corner) of Hamilton, OH ; 2 step granddaughters, Kayla Trimmer (and husband, Ryan) and Kendal Corner, and Dan's beloved dog, Tucker. Dan will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to thank Treasure Coast Hospice and Home Helpers of Martin County for their kind and loving care during the last few weeks of Dan's life.
