Daniel Allan Covey, 59 of Palm City, Florida passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart surrounded by his loving family.
Born May 1, 1957 in Elgin, Illinois, he was the son of Royal Glenn and Audrey Joyce Larsen Covey. He graduated from high school in 1975 and a few years later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1988 he moved up the Florida coast to Port St. Lucie where he resided until moving to Palm City in 2014.

Dan worked construction most of his life and in 2000 he along with his business partner, Tom Raiford began Intracoastal Drywall in Tequesta.

Dan liked being outdoors and his hobbies were a reflection of that enjoyment. He liked fishing, boating, hunting, particularly going gator hunting during season, playing golf and softball.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. His legacy will continue with his family and friends through the memories, love and laughter he has shared with them all.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years, Barbara; loving children, daughter, Shannon Trudell (Todd); son, Jeremy Covey (Christy); cherished grandchildren, Lacey and Trent Trudell and Bentley and Colton Covey. Dan also is survived by his brothers, Pat Covey (Pam) and Tim Covey (Cheryl).

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests, memorial contributions in Dan's memory be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will begin at 12 noon, Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with a Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life to start at 1 PM.
