Daphne Ann Stepien, age 83 of Hobe Sound, FL passed away early on Thursday, April 04, 2013 at the Manors of Hobe Sound. Daphne was born July 27, 1929 in Hitchin, Herts, UK to the late Fred and Gladys Chalkley. She came to the United States in 1946, settling in Johnstown, PA. She lived in Clearfield, PA for 55 years until moving to Hobe Sound, FL in 2011. Daphne enjoyed baking, knitting and reading but above all else she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her sons, David Stepien of Hobe Sound, FL and James Stepien of Osprey, FL; grandson, Craig Stepien of Jupiter, FL and granddaughter, Kristi Wees of Katy, TX; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Gwenda Leaning of Osprey, FL and brother, Raymond Chalkley of the UK. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John in 1988. Per her wishes cremation has taken place and with a memorial service to take place in Clearfield, PA to be scheduled at a later date.
