Obituary

David Alexander Gordeuk was born January 12, 1949 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania to Stephen and Jenny Zernov Gordeuk. He departed this life March 3, 2018 at his home in Hobe Sound, Florida.

Dave received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees at Penn State University, and his Ph.D. in Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary.

Dave, along with others, started Overcomers, an evangelism outreach to college campuses and communities.  He worked for 12 years as a campus missionary at Penn State University with Campus Missionary Fellowship.

In 1985, he became the pastor of Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Lyndon, Kansas, where he pastored for 20 years.

In 2006, Dave moved with his family to Hobe Sound, Florida, where he served as a teacher at Hobe Sound Bible College, and Pastor for Spiritual Life at Hobe Sound Bible Church. In recent years, he has served there as Writer-in-Residence.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Jenny Gordeuk, and his brother, Daniel.

Dave leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Janice Kramer Gordeuk, four children, Jonathan Gordeuk, Julie Gordeuk Franklin, Jeana Gordeuk, Jeffrey Gordeuk, son-in-law, Jonathan Franklin, and two grandsons, Kimber and Knox Franklin, brother, Vic Gordeuk, sisters, Anita Brennan, Elizabeth Caine, Nancy Kondas, and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope International Missions, 11305 SE Gomez Ave., Hobe Sound, FL 33455

Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hobe Sound Bible Church in Hobe Sound, FL with services scheduled to begin at 2 PM.  For those who are unable to attend services there will be a live stream of the service at www.hobesoundbiblechurch.com
