David Ray Kunkel died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, November 27, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was 69 years old.

David is known for his love of fast cars, particularly his beloved 1970 Shelby GT 500 of which his granddaughter is named, and his love
of travel. During his lifetime, David and Mary traveled the world together, often taking their two children with them. There weren't many places left on earth the two had not traveled together.

He is survived by his wife Mary, their daughter Stephanie and her husband Bret Maxwell, their son Stephen and his wife Kristina (Kuschel), and four
grandchildren, Liina, Christopher, Shelby and Cooper.

David is also survived by his mother JoAnn, his brother Jeffry and his wife Lynn, numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

David will be memorialized by his family doing what he loved – traveling together in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

He, and his larger-than-life personality,will be greatly missed.
