David Donald Landry, 67, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully after a fifty-five year battle with cancer. He was born in Norwich, Connecticut and graduated from Saint Bernard School, Springfield College and received his MS at Montclair State College. Dave was an engineer, teacher, real estate agent and Vice President for numerous mortgage banking companies. In his retirement, he was co-founder of Sarah's Kitchen and served on the Board of Directors. Additionally, he was on the vestries of The Church of the Nativity in Port St. Lucie, Florida, St. Michael's Church in Litchfield, Connecticut and Church of the Resurrection in Norwich, Connecticut. Golf, tennis, running and soccer were activities he enjoyed, but his family was always at the forefront.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and daughters Alice Landry of Orlando and Marion and Robert Kavovit of Sewall's Point, Florida, as well as one granddaughter, London Koenitzer, and two grandsons, Landry and Luke Kavovit. He leaves two brothers Richard of Voluntown, Connecticut, Louis of Franklin, Connecticut and two sisters Viola Mulcahy of Uncasville, Connecticut and Lorraine Baumgardner of South Carolina. David was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Florence Landry of Norwich, Connecticut, sister Marie Landry Leo and brothers Alfred Jr., Roy and the Reverend Joseph.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of the Nativity, 1151 SW Del Rio Blvd, Port St. Lucie, Florida 34953, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday May 5, 2014.
