Mr. Dejal "John" Tosun, age 83, sadly passed away on December 24, 2025, in Stuart, Florida.

Born on February 8, 1942, in Larnaca, Cyprus, John immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of 10.

He spent many years in Union, New Jersey, where he raised his family and proudly served as a police officer. After his service in law enforcement, John pursued his lifelong passion for cars, becoming a professional automotive technician and eventually owning his own automotive service business for many years. Known by many for his honesty, John took great pride in his work and the reputation he built over the years.

Affectionately known to many as "Cookie Monster," John enjoyed classic Western movies and spending time outdoors in the warm Florida sun. One of his favorite pastimes was feeding peanuts to the local squirrels—often right from his hands—a simple pleasure that brought him peace and happiness.

You knew John loved you if he had a special nickname for you; these small gestures spoke volumes about his affection, humor, and gentle heart.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Vivian (Raviele); daughters Susan (son-in-law Steve) and Leyla (son-in-law Jeff); son Jon (daughter-in-law Erin); his grandson, Ryan ; his brother Zeke, and loving nieces.

John will be remembered for his steady presence, strength of character, and the deep love he held for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

At the family's request, the best tribute to his extraordinary life would be to contribute to either of these organizations.
