Dennis R. Schnorr, 75, passed peacefully at home Friday, July 19, 2019, with his wife of 19 years and 3 children at his side. He was a resident of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, coming from Puyallup, Washington.

Colonel Schnorr held a distinguished military career in the Air Force beginning in 1967 until retiring in 2001 as Commander of the 446 Logistics Group at McChord AFB, Washington. He served as Flightline Maintenance Officer, Field Maintenance Officer, Wing Executive Officer, Deputy Commander for Maintenance, and Inspector General. He also served as Director of Maintenance Engineering, Deputy Chief of Staff Logistics and Chief of Staff for 4 ^th Air Force. Throughout his career, Colonel Schnorr was honored with the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. He led the unit to receive the 2001 Outstanding Non-Flying Unit Award sponsored by the Reserve Officer Association. He was an Honorary Chief Master Sergeant inductee, the first-ever recipient of Military Airlift Command's Outstanding Reserve Associate Maintenance Officer, and Distinguished graduate of Officer Training School.

He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Schnorr of Port Saint Lucie, son and daughter-in-law Eric and Lisa Schnorr of Maplewood, New Jersey daughter and son-in-law Heidi Schnorr-Leavy and Mark Leavy of Northfield, New Jersey, son Ryan Schnorr of Renton, Washington, and two grandsons Max and Alex Schnorr of Maplewood, New Jersey.

He will be remembered for his roles as a leader, husband, father, grandfather, and fighter until the end, as well as a man who was loving, warm, affectionate, determined, with a sharp mind, a great sense of humor, and passionate about what he believed in.
