Our beloved, Dewey Thomas Vest, ever so peacefully passed away on July 10, 2020 at the age of 91 years strong.  He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Hobe Sound, Florida.  Dewey was born at home to his parents Helen and Harry Vest in Long Creek, Illinois on January 14th, 1929.  Dewey was one of nine children.  He had a good, but difficult childhood growing up in the era of the Great Depression.  At the age of 17, Dewey joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country on the aircraft carrier, The Coral Sea.  Dewey met the love of his life, Judy Anne Spicer and they were married on June 23rd, 1965.  He owned and operated several gas stations, Gulf Oil and DX where he worked long, hard hours to provide for his family.  Dewey and Judy remained married 55 yrs. and together they raised five beautiful children, David, Diana, Thomas, Ted, and Lori.  Dewey also leaves behind his son, Danny who resides in Illinois.  All of his children are his Legacy, Pride, and Joy!  Dewey loved good food, baseball, old cowboy movies, and yard sales.  Dewey was a Wonderful Husband, Loving Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, and Brother.  We will all miss his gregarious laugh, sense of humor,  and the many stories he told.  His charismatic charm filled a room, everyone that met him said the same thing "He's a Real Charmer".  I know we will all be together again for all eternity as God has promised, until then We Love You.  Rest in the peace you so well deserve.  Honey, your job here is done rest assured you did it well!
