Diane S. Goldberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Fort Pierce, Florida on October 4, 2019. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey to Rose and Hyman White on April 30, 1937. She graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School in Brooklyn, New York and went on to Brooklyn College, where she graduated receiving an Associate in Science with Specialization in Merchandising in 1960. Diane worked various jobs in the "Garment District" over the years. She met Morton Goldberg, the love of her life, and they were married October 3, 1963. They decided to start a family and relocated to Albany, in upstate New York, where they had three daughters, Beth, Janet and Rena. Diane was a homemaker, taking care of her daughters, and enjoyed cooking and was an avid seamstress, making clothes for herself and her daughters. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, an elementary school room mother and a volunteer at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Albany. She enjoyed taking family day trips to Vermont, Massachusetts and other areas of New York. When her daughters were older, Diane went back to work at the New York State Board of Regents Education Department for approximately six years, until she and her husband decided to retire and relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida. Diane enjoyed volunteering with Mended Hearts, Shine and the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department. Diane was predeceased by her husband, Morton, in 2017. Diane S. Goldberg is survived by her daughters, Beth Hoenicke (Stefan) of Laurel, MD, Janet Flood of Cohoes, NY and Rena Thomas (John) of Fort Pierce, FL, along with seven grandchildren, Corbin, Tessa and Nolan Hoenicke, Lauren and Kaelyn Flood and John III and Mattea Thomas. A service will be held at a later date at Temple Beit Hayam in Stuart, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor their mother's request to have donations made to the Leukemia Foundation or the Heart Foundation in her memory.
