IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Raymond
White, Sr.
October 5, 1931 – September 7, 2020
Donald Raymond White, 88, of Hobe Sound, Florida, passed away on September 7, 2020, at The Terrace of Hobe Sound.
Born on October 5, 1931, in New Boston, Ohio, Don lived in that town until he graduated from Glenwood High School in 1949. At that time he moved to Maryland, where he met and later married Lois Ruth Arnold. He served in the U.S. Army from October 1951 until his honorable discharge in September 1954. Later, he began a lengthy career in the aerospace division of Westinghouse. After retiring in 1991, he and Lois moved to Florida, living first in Port St. Lucie and most recently in Hobe Sound.
Don loved his family and his Lord. He spent many years serving as a board member, head usher, and Sunday school teacher in the various churches he attended. He also served as the secretary of Clinton Camp for many years, and he was active in the Gideons. Most recently, he was a faithful member of Hobe Sound Bible Church until he went into the nursing home. He anticipated going to heaven, where he is now with the Savior he has loved so long.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Darthula White; his brothers Douglas, Marion, and Paul; his sister Ann; and his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Lois.
Don is survived by his four children: Kathleen White Wright of Hobe Sound, FL, Sharon White Munson and her husband Dave of Jackson, KY, Nancy White of Hobe Sound, and Donald White, Jr., and his wife Melody, also of Hobe Sound. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Daniel, David (and his wife Carrie), Stephen, Kevin (and his wife Krista), Brian, John, Denise, Brenton, and Ryan, along with nine great-grandchildren: Maylena, Lydia, Konnor, Kallen, Judah, Josiah, Kaden, Kierra, and Jeremiah.
In lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to make contributions to Gospel Publishing Mission , an organization that Don and his wife supported for many years.
Don's viewing will begin at 1 pm on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Treasure Coast Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory. 950 SE Monterey Road, Stuart, Florida. His funeral service will be at 1:30 pm, and interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City, Florida. Please remember that masks and social distancing are required of all guests.
