Obituary

Earl S. Kratzer, 79 of Stuart passed away November 24, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Earl was born in Cleveland, Ohio and spent most of his life there, moving to Stuart Florida in 2001. He was a retired detective sergeant with the Cleveland Police Department serving well for 20 years. He earned the Rotary Club Valor Award for saving the life of a victim of an armed robbery. Earl also met and married Michele A. Kratzer (nee Moran) through work. They were married for 35 years, they dearly loved each other.
Earl was also a Real Estate Broker in Cleveland. He was a partner in two real estate offices employing over 100 people.
He also was a published author.
Earl was active in the Masons where he served as Worshipful Master for two Masonic lodges in two states.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything that took him outdoors. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife, Michele, Earl is survived by daughters, Julianne Aveni, Kathy (Bob) Bradley and Ellen (Ralph) Phillips; brother, Wayne Kratzer; grandchildren, Brooke (Mike) O'Neill, Frankie Aveni, Matthew (Dana) Bradley, Scott (Ali) Bradley and Jeffrey Phillips. He was also Papa Duke to six great grandchildren, an uncle and friend to many, especially his best friend and hunting buddy, Sam Lapisa.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Carol Kratzer; brother, Mark Kratzer; infant daughter, Mary Kratzer and grandson Scott Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, where he was given such good care at the end of his earthly life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Treasure Coast Funeral Home Garden Chapel. A guest registry may be signed at www.treasurecoastseawinds.com.
