Lowing
February 4, 1935 – November 8, 2022
We are sad to announce the passing of Earle Douglas Lowing of Port Saint Lucie, Florida. He passed while under the care of Hospice at The Palms Nursing Home at the age of 87 on November 8, 2022.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of almost fifty years, Virginia L. Lowing, and his sister Eloise Bolhuis.
He is survived by his children Erick (Cindy) Lowing, Sue (Gene) Klein, Darrel Lowing, Debra (Werner) Haberstroh and Judith Flexman. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren who were an immense source of joy to him throughout his life.
Earle was born on February 4, 1935 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Earle and Ruth Lowing. From 1953-1957 he served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic and after leaving the service he had a varied professional life. He had many jobs including driving truck for Steelcase, owning an irrigation business and driving limo. In 1977 he and his wife moved to Port Saint Lucie and was an active participant in the community having been a member of the Masonic Lodge for fifty-one years and a member of the Palm Beach Shrine Club where he was Potentate from 2004-2006. While serving on the Shriner's Hospital committee he transported children to the Shriner's Hospital in Tampa, Florida for treatment as well as participating on many other committees throughout the years.
In his personal life, had a passion for travel, cooking and baking and caring for his home where he liked to entertain both family and friends. He had a love of life that he shared with all that he met and he will be greatly missed.
