Edith Paton Shelton of Stuart, Florida and Summerfield, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 81 years of age.
Edie was born in London, England and moved to the United States after meeting and marrying her husband George W. Shelton of Murray, Kentucky while he was stationed overseas with the United States Air Force.
Edie was an educator with a Master's in Special Education, an artist, a golfer and a wonderful wife, mother of two and loving friend to so many.
Edie is survived by her husband, Dr. George W Shelton; daughters, Karen Harkness Houser and her husband, Wesley Houser, Jr., Sandy Vernon Dunbeck and her husband, Dan Dunbeck; and grandchildren, Alexandra Paton Vernon, Chase Shelton Vernon and Kimberly Dunbeck Genuario and her husband, Nick Genuario. Edie is also survived by her sisters, Ivy Clark, Maureen Stockwell, Jean McKay and sister in law, Barbara Knight and brother in law, Gene Knight, along with many special nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life ceremony is to be held in the future.
