Edward J. Byrne Jr. 74, of Jensen Beach Fl., died Tuesday, June 26,2012 at Salerno Bay Manor Nursing Home in Port Salerno Fl.
Edd was born in Darby Pennsylvania on October 6, 1937 the only son of the late Edward J. Byrne Sr. and Alyse Cary Byrne. He was a graduate of Yeadon High School in Pa., and had his Associates Degree from Mercer County N.J. Community College. He also attended the College of New Jersey, formerly known as Trenton State College. Edward was the Civil Union Partner of Alan Gellert with whom he lived for almost thirty years.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Jensen Beach and did volunteer work there as a receptionist in the office of the church. He worked for many years as a Nursing Assistant in several nursing homes in the Philadelphia area. He also worked at Caldwell's Jewelry Store and various department stores in Philadelphia as well as working for the highway department in Pennsylvania before moving to Jensen Beach. Edd resided in villages in Hamilton Township,N.J. and was an active member of Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church in Mercerville, N.J. He also did volunteer work at the Trenton Soup Kitchen and Mercer County Geriatric Center.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11A.M on Thursday July 19, 2012 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2377 NE Patrician St, Jensen Beach, FL., with Father Frisby Hendricks as officiant.
