IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elizabeth M.
"Betty" Deluca
September 29, 1944 – March 20, 2022
Elizabeth "Betty" Mary DeLuca (77) of Port Saint Lucie, FL formerly of Clarks Summit, PA & Ronkonkoma, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born on September 29, 1944 at Union Hospital in the Bronx, NY – the daughter of John Lunnie and Elizabeth (Smyth) Lunnie.
She graduated from St. Helena High School in 1962 and went to work for Con Edison where she met the love of her life, Rosario "Sal" DeLuca. After a brief courtship, Sal and Betty were engaged on Valentine's Day and married at St. Raymond Catholic Church on June 4, 1966.
Betty loved to play Bingo, she never turned down a trip to the casinos, and she greatly enjoyed RV-ing and cruising for many years with Sal. She was an avid quilter and made beautiful quilts for many of her friends and family members, especially her beloved grandchildren. Betty was the Mom-in-Chief, an all-around doer and keeper of the hearts. She never met a stranger and she always had a way of making everyone feel welcome in her home.
She died the way she lived surrounded by the joys of her life – her loving husband, four children, and her close life-long friends.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of 55+ years, Sal DeLuca; her children – Joseph and his wife Adriene Baldo DeLuca, of Franklin Square, NY; Lynda Moran, of Brewster, NY; Sal and his wife Karen DeLuca of Oakdale, NY; & Elizabeth and her husband Ryan Kagay, of Argyle, TX; her 11 grandchildren – Isabella, Christopher, Daniel, Sophia, Nick, Alex, Camille, Grace, John, Jacob & Abigail; her brother James Lunnie, her brother-in-law Al Heinemann as well as her niece, Nancy Richardson and her nephews, Alfred, Bill & John Heinemann.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, her beloved sister, Ellen Heinemann and her niece, Ellen Silvestro Briggs.
