Elizabeth J. Rhodes, 50, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, earned her Angel's Wings on May 4, 2015.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she had been a resident of Port Saint Lucie since 2004, and on the Treasure Coast since 1996.
Elizabeth was the eternal student who had to abandon her pursuit of a Masters Business degree due to health reasons. She was always striving to better herself and her community, and was involved with various volunteer and business groups in both Martin and Saint Lucie counties. Elizabeth had many interests and hobbies, with her talents, natural ability, and hard work she could have been a professional in any of those efforts.
She was a published author. Upon her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, Elizabeth wrote the book "Talking Back to MS", detailing her struggle from her diagnosis through finally finding an alternative medication that allowed her to live a normal life with the MS.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Wm. "Tom" Rhodes, of Port Saint Lucie; two sons, Wm. "Karl", and Wm. "Josh" Rhodes, both of Port Saint Lucie; three sisters, Kari Streib, of Valencia, Pennsylvania, Linda Carrington, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cheryl Flora, of Dilliner, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Raymond Streib, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas Streib, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and her twin, Edward Streib, of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Alexis, Elisa, Anthony, and John; her mother-in-law, Rita G. Rhodes, of Port Saint Lucie; five nephews, Richard and Ryan Carrington, Thomas Streib, Jason, Whitt, and Chad Flora; five nieces, Alicia Falkinburg, Nicole Wilson, Heather Jarrard, Renee Flora, and Amber Rhoades; and one grandnephew, Dylan.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Streib, Sr., and her two sisters, Alisa Danforth, and Eleanor Ott.
A Celebration of Her life will be announced by the family.
