Ellis Padgett, 85, of Stuart, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. Born on March 14, 1941, in Perry, Florida. Ellis lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to his family and community.

Ellis was a longtime resident of Port Salerno, Florida, where he built a life rooted in resilience and generosity. Known for his tough yet giving nature, he was deeply supportive of his family and extended family, always offering strength and encouragement to those around him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Donna; his son, Ellis E. Padgett; and daughter Barbara Smith-Decker. He also leaves behind one brother, Robert Padgett; one sister, Catherine Plourde ; one grandchild, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Ellis was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Ruth Ward; 3 brothers: Clarence "Bud" Padgett, Henry Padgett, and Pete Padgett; and three grandchildren: Carl E. Padgett, Kyle C. Smith, and Walter D. Wunder, III.

Ellis's memory will be cherished by all who knew him. May his legacy of strength and kindness continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.

Ellis was a private man and following his expressed wishes to his son and daughter there will be no service.
