Ewart Short, 69, of Indiantown, Florida, was called home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his home.
Born in Hickman's Harbour, New Foundland, Canada, he had been a Florida resident since 1972, coming from Massachusetts.
Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Tropic Coast Landscape, serving the Delray and Jupiter areas. Ewart, with his "Green Thumb", loved plants and with his talent could get most plants to grow and thrive, when others could not.
Survivors include, his beloved wife of forty-five years, Betty Short, of Indiantown; his two sons, Joel Short, and his wife, Thadra, of Indiantown, and Adam Short, of Stuart; his granddaughter, Willow; three sisters, Maxine Guertin, and her husband, James, of Jupiter, Florida, Glynnis Kennon, and her husband, Irwin, of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, and Marilyn Whipple, and her husband, Robert, of Jupiter; two brothers, Horatio Short, and his wife, Debra, of Corona, California, and Duncan Short, of Taunton, Massachusetts.
A Service to Celebrate his Life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10:00 am, at The Grace Place Community Church, 1550 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, Florida 34997.
In lieu of flowers, Contributions as a Memorial may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation to Cure Pancreatic Cancer, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, New York 11714.
